1207 "The Human Shield"

Lubasha Visnjic: From ER Forums... Director: Laura Innes. Work dates LA 9/23-10/04, and Chicago 10/13-10/17. A sexual predator has abducted a ten year old girl from her home. They're discovered at a restaurant, and a shootout ensues in which the girl is injured and later dies. Sam helps a suicidal college freshman, going to his dorm and dealing with his abusive roommates. Remember Zoe, the 14 year old? Her father shows up at the ER and "kicks the crap out of" Ray, after discovering a prescription Neela wrote for her.

Lubasha Visnjic: From The ER Exchange Syndey arrives first at the ER and Abby takes primary care of her, but the initial examination shows that she has been raped. Abby speaks to Sydney's mother who is headed to the ER. Vincent comes in next, treated by Luka and Neela. It is hard for them, knowing what Vincent has done. At one point, Vincent sits up and grabs Neela's wrist; Luka subdues him before the police officer shoots Vincent. Dubenko comes in and tries to get an OR ready in 20 minutes; Luka tells him 10 minutes. It seems that Abby and Neela were suspended (don't know how long) for treating the chimp. Seems Clemente is not yet Chief of the ER, but may be applying for it.

Lubasha Visnjic: and AEB Haleh has been fired and Sam was somehow involved. Jerry and Frank are mailing her last check to her when Sam comes to the desk, they call her the hachet lady and ask if another beloved employee will be fired today. Sam says she was carrying out Eve's orders and Frank says that Himmler said the same thing. Sam receives a letter from Steve. He says he is being moved to Cook County from Colorado. Eve and Sam are talking later and Eve is telling her that a lot of her relatives are cops, she was once engaged to a cop who was killed on the job. Sam tells her about Steve and asks if what he is saying is possible, Eve is going to check it out. Neela's bummed because Gallant's leave has been postponed. Looks like Clemente is making lots of changes. He wants to introduce new techniques and equipment regularly. Looks like he organizes more teaching rounds and post shift 'debriefings' for the residents which, of course, don't seem to be popular. Clemente and Eve lament the sad state of the department and how much work there is to do. Sam cares for Ian, a college student who got drunk at a dorm party and passed out. He only drank because some other guys in the dorm were on his case about it. They drew on his face with permanent markers once he passed out (been seen before on this show). He came to the ER with vomiting. He tells Sam that he is the first in his family to go to college and he is not doing well in his classes. He uses a hospital computer to try to check his email and later elopes. Sam goes to his dorm after discovering he was online in a chatroom talking about killing himself. She gets to his dorm and finds him, two jocks help her break down the door,he has OD'd and is saved. She tells him his 'friends' saved him and he tells her they are not his friends, that they're the ones who got him drunk and wrote on him. The 'friends' come in with a transcript of the chat room convo for the psych to see and, when Sam tells them Ian will need their support, they say they are not his friends. Pratt and Sam coerce them to go and see Ian. Sam and Pratt then look at the chatroom transcript and note that others in the chat room were encouraging Ian to kill himself. And, once again, the show slams the internet.

Lubasha Visnjic: Mr. Butler, Zoe's father, shows up with her in the ER looking for Neela. He approaches Sam first and she tries to explain confidentiality but he is threatening and demanding to know what the prescription was for. Sam calls on Jerry to defuse things a little. Neela speaks to him and he continues to get more agitated, insisting that he has a right to know why Zoe got a prescription. Zoe is not saying a word despite both Sam and Neela saying she is the only one who can tell him what happened. Mr. B. wants to speak to a supervisor. Right then, Ray walks up and sees Zoe with her father and says he can explain everything. Neela tries to get him to shut up, tries to drag him away. Not sure what happened after that but presumably, Ray spilled the beans about Zoe and him. Ray and Neela are later in the parking lot when Ray is saying that he isn't working until Saturday and hopes things will blow over by then. Neela is working tomorrow and is afraid she will bear the brunt for both of them. Mr. Butler shows up, sucker punches Ray and beats the snot out of him (he reads this board I think). Even kicks him when he's on the ground. Ray tells Neela he's fine after Butler takes off. Later, Luka talks to Kerry and asks about the new ER chief. Clemente is the frontrunner and Luka says he doesn't think Clemente is right for County. Kerry says he is welcome to suggest someone else if he has a better candidate and Luka suggests himself. She tells him the chief job isn't really his style. Abby, naturally, is caring for Sydney, the child molestation victim. Looks like Luka is her attending on it, but Clemente somehow becomes involved and does something Luka doesn't like. Seems like Luka thinks it may have contributed to her death. Clemente later talks to Abby, tells her he is sorry and he was trying to help despite what Luka thinks. He gives Abby a meaningful glance and touches her hand as he says this. And so it begins.. The little girl, Sydney, was abducted from a campsite a couple of months earlier. She is eating with her abductor, Vincent, in a restaurant, where she is coloring a picture. Something freaks Vincent out and he takes her and sneaks out the back door. The cops are there and he holds her in his arms as a shield while trying to reach his car. He shoots a cop in the armpit and other cops shoot him multiple times. Sydney has a gunshot wound in the chest, the cops think that it was from Vincent's gun when he fell.

Lubasha Visnjic: The cop who was injured, Howe, isn't hurt too bad, an arterial bleeder and maybe some nerve damage, he is scared he will die. Eve reassures him and distracts him by talking about various cops she knows including the one who gave her her first orgasm and another who used to babysit her. Pratt and Neela are taking care of him. Abby gets Sydney, and anvils are aflying. It appears that both Clemente and Luka are her attendings at various times and Clemente doesn't want to be aggressive with fluids, thinks it's OK Sydney is hypotensive. Luka later shows up when the kid is crashing and is not amused. Abby, of course, because she is so wonderful, tries to find Sydney's stuffed puppy which was lost in the shootout and is the third party in a tearful phone conversation with Sydney and her mom. Chuny and Abby do a rape kit on Sydney and she has been molested many times and is scarred and bruised. She tells them that Vincent likes to play the 'married game'. Just prior to Sydney arriving, Luka and Abby are talking about Clemente who Luka refers to as the guy who got Abby and Neela suspended for treating a monkey. Abby corrects that it was a chimp. How it is that Abby and Neela got suspended while their attending is frontrunner for a major promotion is not explained. Luka and Neela are taking care of Vincent who has multiple gunshot wounds including one to the head. As he is being wheeled into trauma, Clemente starts telling Luka how to manage his wounds. Luka is not amused and Clemente sees that. Despite his injuries, Vincent awakens and becomes agitated and tells them they they don't understand, he loves Sydney and she loves him. Neela is appropriately sickened by this. He grabs Neela and a cop threatens to shoot him. Luka tells Neela to push the sedative which she does. Vincent tells them that maybe they should let him die. He is to go up to the OR in 10 minutes and that's the last of him in the sides. Prior to his arrival, Luka and Neela are talking about Gallant who is due to arrive that day (prior to Neela finding out his leave was cancelled). Luka tells her to give Gallant his best and that he'd love to take him out for a beer (and I would love to see it) if he has time.

Lubasha Visnjic: It looks like Neela and Abby have just ended their suspensions, that's why they are working. A better question is why they were suspended while Clemente is on the verge of getting a big promotion since he is the attending and the monkeyshines were his idea. It is also not explained why it is that Abby is apparently defending him to Luka if indeed she and Neela were punished while he got off scot free. There is a great big dude in trauma who gets highly upset when Clemente does a rectal on him. Clemente ends up smearing the guy's nose with his poopy glove because that is always funny. The guy freaks out and demands a tetanus shot.

Lubasha Visnjic: Combining the extraordinary talents of multiple award-winning producer John Wells, best-selling author Michael Crichton and Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, "ER" explores the inner workings of an urban teaching hospital and the critical issues faced by the dedicated physicians and staff of its overburdened emergency room. Starring Goran Visnjic ("Spartacus," "The Deep End"), Maura Tierney ("Welcome to Mooseport," "Insomnia"), Mekhi Phifer ("Dawn of the Dead," "Clockers"), Parminder Nagra ("Ella Enchanted," "Bend It Like Beckham"), Linda Cardellini ("Brokeback Mountain," "Scooby-Doo" movies), Shane West ("Once and Again," "A Walk to Remember"), Scott Grimes ("Band of Brothers," "Party of Five") and Laura Innes ("Deep Impact," "And the Band Played On"), "ER" is from Constant c Productions, Amblin Television in association with Warner Bros. Television Production Inc. "ER" airs Thursdays (10:00 - 11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on the NBC Television Network. With 115 Emmy nominations, the second highest count in television history and more than any other drama series, "ER" has won 22 Emmy Awards and has been honored with a prestigious Peabody Award, as well as numerous other accolades. "ER" remained the number one drama in the 18-49 demographic, and its new episodes consistently rated among the top five--major feats for a show that was in its eleventh season. "ER" follows the lives of the emergency room staff and doctors of Chicago's County General Hospital, where the difference between life and death rests on split-second decisions--and the pressure, joy and guilt are often overwhelming. The heroic healers who live this life are as varied as the patients they treat. As a second-year resident, Abby Lockhart (Tierney) assumes a position of more authority and responsibility in the emergency room. Having established herself professionally, Abby stands at a personal crossroads--one that may lead to the renewal of her complicated relationship with Attending Physician Dr. Luka Kovac (Visnjic). For his part, Kovac is in a personal void as well, so gravitating towards Abby is only natural. At the same time, Kovac goes head to head with new Attending Physician Victor Clemente (recurring guest star John Leguizamo - "Spawn," "Moulin Rouge!") in a battle over who will become chief of the emergency room. Chief of staff Dr. Kerry Weaver (Innes) must keep order in a suddenly leaderless emergency room while she determines who the new chief will be. Meanwhile, her physical disability worsens to the point at which she has to make a difficult decision. Nurse Sam Taggart (Cardellini) is promoted to a manager of nursing position, which puts her in conflict with many of her colleagues. At home, she tries to maintain a healthy relationship with her troubled young son and incarcerated ex-husband. Dr. Gregory Pratt (Phifer), now a fourth-year resident, finally confronts his long-estranged father, Charlie (recurring guest star Danny Glover - "Lethal Weapon" films, "The Royal Tenenbaums"), over their differing ideas of the past. Pratt must come to terms with the fact that he has an extended family that wants him back. He also considers joining a former emergency room colleague on an overseas mission in an international medical relief organization. After a heroic turn on a paramedic run, second-year resident Dr. Neela Rasgotra (Nagra) feels drawn towards being a surgeon. She also reunites with Dr. Michael Gallant (former series star Sharif Atkins) upon his return from Iraq. Intern Dr. Ray Barnett (West) continues to find himself torn between rock music and medicine as he embarks on an affair with a groupie who turns out not to be quite whom he thought she was. And despite the fact that Dr. Archie Morris (Grimes), in his role as chief resident, has risen to the occasion and proven himself as a doctor, he must engage in a turf war with the new chief surgical resident, Dr. Lucien Dubenko (recurring guest star Leland Orser - "The Bone Collector," "Daredevil").

Машуля: Lubasha Visnjic пишет: цитатаLaura Innes ("Deep Impact," "And the Band Played On"), Второй фильм поставили в фильмографию к месту!
