12.05 "Wake Up"

Lubasha Visnjic: From MrsV http://mrsviw.blogspot.com/ Full spoilers: Teaser: Ray follows Weaver, giving out flyers while they walk. Weaver gives Abby a patient who’s vomiting blood. Abby says, “My specialty”, and heads off. She tries giving Ray a patient, but he says he’s doing his tox elective. He’s just there to hand out flyers, reminding everybody about his gig tonight. Jerry takes one of the fliers, reads it, and says, “The Pogo Lounge?” Morris thinks it’s a strip club. Ray says that it’s behind the Lava Lounge, which used to be known as the Aqua Lounge. Ray sees Neela, calls her “Roomie”, and asks if she’s going to go. She says it’s why she wakes up in the morning. Ray and Neela walk away. We stay with Morris, who’s handing out charts to 2 college students named Rosie and Marshall. They’re wearing lab coats. He gives them a chart, but they tell him that they’re not really doctors. Pratt says, “What’s with the Halloween costume?”

Lubasha Visnjic: Delusions of Adequacy Posted: Oct 21 2005, 07:57 PM Jeez, is GV taking some Kind of Hotness Pills? Yowser but that is one fine looking man. If I was Blair waking up after 6 years I'd think Id died and gone right to heaven. No Luka and Sam. Boy is that ship sunk. Clemente I liked, he can stick around a while. Allthe characters on the show are established and if they want to bring out new stuff in them without using anvillicious patients they need someone like this to shake 'em up. Him and Luka are gonna butt heads, right? Bring it on - the pretty v the snarky. My moneys on the pretty. But if he loses and has to take off his shirt to dry his eyes with i can deal. Abbys cancer patient was good and some anvils in there for Abby - Steph got her second chance with Lou(ka?) Maybe not. Good to see Kerry for more than 0.003 seconds. Loved the put downs of Morris fom just about everyone, Neela, Kerry, Clemente. And I love Morris because Scott grimes is brilliant. Ray - you know I can live without his screw of the day. Enough already. Pratt's storyline is taking off but they really need to ditch the Olivia woman or at least the woman playing her. She's terrible.

Lubasha Visnjic: briana Posted: Oct 22 2005, 07:53 AM I loved Wake Up. Absolutely loved it. I don't like how Pratt is not giving his dad a break either... and yeah, Ray's scenes were ANNOYING. So is that it for Blaire then? Is she going back to being comatose just like that? Ahh that almost made me cry. Luka is such a sweetie... i felt bad for him. I liked Blaire too =( Good acting on both of their parts. So what is that song at the end of the episode? I've heard it tons of times, just I have no idea who sings it.

Lubasha Visnjic: La Boheme Loyal Viewer Oct 20, 2005 @ 10:02 PM There were shots of GV tonight that literally took my breath away. My god, that's a fine specimen of manhood! Are there more back in Croatia like him? Like JL, don't know what he can bring to the table but we'll see. It will be interesting to see him interact with NurseSally.

Lubasha Visnjic: chelseacaat37 Just Tuned In Oct 20, 2005 @ 10:14 PM Yea, continuity!! I'm so glad we weren't left hanging with the coma patient storyline as well as the breast cancer patient storyline. Loved that Morris got slammed by Kerry, Clamentes and I think, Pratt, all within five minutes. "We're not doctors." "That never stopped Morris." I could've also done without the gratiutious sex scene at the end, but I loved the song. Wonder who it's by? And yes, I did notice the Rick James comment from "Skittles."

Lubasha Visnjic: Aimee Myers Video Archivist Oct 20, 2005 @ 11:06 PM Also I think Kerry was wearing that Breast Cancer scarf that they are all wearing in that PSA print ad I've been seeing everywhere.

Lubasha Visnjic: eddiecakes Channel Surfer Oct 20, 2005 @ 11:08 PM GV was indeed yummy tonight! Good episode all around. I liked Clemente giving Ray the answer through the window during Ray's consult with "drugs" Doc. I think he's a nice addition to the cast. Did anyone else notice that Kerry seems to have lost her limp? It looked like she was walking fairly normally, and simply moving the crutch along beside her.

Lubasha Visnjic: Annihilator Loyal Viewer Oct 20, 2005 @ 11:17 PM I was not disappointed. I hoped Clemente would bring energy. And I thought he brought humor, abrasiveness, wit, & energy tonight. I think ER needs a character like him to light a fire under everyone's arse because the others had become complacent & lackluster. So I felt he did a nice job in that department. ER needs this. I loved Neela. Blair & Luka's plot was okay. I didn't pay much attention to Abby's plot. I think Pratt & Olivia are dullsville. But I really enjoyed this episode & even better I was not bored. This episode was the best of the season so far in my opinion. November sweeps are looking up. edited to add: I'm sure Abby's mammogram was just a PSA. Like Dubenko's prostate cancer plot. And I also caught Kerry's walk. The limp seemed toned down & almost gone. LOL

Lubasha Visnjic: Cristal Line Video Archivist Oct 20, 2005 @ 11:21 PM Really enjoyed tonight's episode. New guy brought some fire to the ER, Sam got a minimum of screen time, and Luka looked fine in the blue shirt.

Lubasha Visnjic: VaNotSoSlim Couch Potato Oct 20, 2005 @ 11:33 PM This one wasn't bad. I had few expectations for Clemente (as I'm only familiar with JL's standup -- and couldn't see him as a fit for ER, based on that part of his resume) and, as a result, I actually liked him better than I thought I would. He handled the technical jargon (and he had a LOT of tech jargon!) very well...but his Russian (was that Russian?) was obviously a stretch for him. (well, it wasn't as pleasing to the ear as Alec Baldwin's attempts in Hunt for Red October, anyway) I liked his quick and accurate assessment of Morris and his snappy come-back on the shoe-nosing attempt, and think they set up a nice little bit of tension between him and Luka. Also intrigued by the obvious antipathy that Kerry feels towards him -- I thought his employ was wholeheartedly backed by Kerry's approval... Interesting, too, Kerry's comment about "the same thing as in New York..." Wonder what went on there, Victor... I thought the answer through the window was a nice little touch, too, eddiecakes. MT is doing nothing to end my shameless girl crush on her. She is the main reason I stick it out for this show... and so far, I've never repented my decision. I liked how her breast cancer patient and Dubenko weren't overwhelming ANVILS, but subtley led her to take action and get that breast panini. I actually really liked that whole breast cancer patient arc -- and I liked that Skipper had been trying to see Stephanie the whole time, and he came back with chocolates. Aww. Sweet. It was a nice touch too, that she didn't go into screaming hysterics, and yell at Abby "that bitch" for bringing Skipper in to see her -- she actually seemed kind of pleased, and hopeful... Pretty good ep...

Lubasha Visnjic: Phoenix Arisen Channel Surfer Yesterday @ 12:06 AM Wow! I'm so glad I have stuck it out with this show. Of 5 episodes so far, 1 has been poor (but with good Luka stuff), 1 has been mediocre and 3 have been much better than what has been usual fare for three or four years. Tonight I realized I really do like this show again. I was really into it and enjoyed all the storylines, even Pratt's stuff. I almost never like Pratt's stuff. I'm very impressed with the energy this show has now, and no, that is not a reference to JL coming aboard. It's the improvement within the rest of the staff that I'm enjoying so much. Zabel, if you're reading, my thanks for giving this show new zest even if it is slowly dying! Another joy - less of Sam. I can never get too little of Sam. I loved that the guy who had dated Abby's patient had never really fled from her situation and didn't know what was going on, and when he did, it didn't matter. He seemed almost oblivious to the idea that the woman's breasts were gone. What a great guy! Clemente. Oy! Another arrogant son-of-a-gun! No surprise since they never hire people who are actually, you know, nice. Oh for another Wild Willie type! But Clemente did a great job of nailing Morris from the start; about time, though it barely go through. Plus, Weaver did actually try to put Clemente in his place pretty quickly. That was good. He needs to tone it down some before I can like him, but he came off better for an arrogant so-and-so than Pratt, Ray or Sam did when they first came on. I don't know why but something made him a little easier to stomach. Loved Abby's line about Clemente saying someone should call psych. Loved Abby's comment to Luka as he got on the elevator about Dubenko asking her to be his concubine, and Luka's "What?!" doubletake in response. Loved Abby firmly telling Luka there was no way to know why Blaire had slipped back into the coma. No stepping around it - just being factual in a firm way so that he heard it and got the message instead of being allowed to continue to blame himself.

Lubasha Visnjic: Yvaughn Channel Surfer Yesterday @ 12:36 AM I'd give this one a B+. It would have been an A-, but I'm ticked by the anticlimactic way they ended Susan's arc. Sheesh. Much of this has been covered, but.... Happies: -Beeeeautiful Luka (esp. double-take at Abby's "concubine" line re: Dubenko) -Nice Luby chemistry overall -Dubenko's confidence and banter ("the first time, sure...") -Abby learning something, yay! (love the "breast panini, VaNotSoSlim) -Morris not being rewarded for his Morrisness -Hope for mastectomy girl -Not a word about Africa, and only a couple about war zones. -Clemente's one or two good qualities (like giving Ray the correct answer, and being more or less competent. As with Romano, I'll accept a lot more jerkdom if I believe the guy can back it up). Not-so-happies: -Clemente's jerkdom... good luck with that, ER -Morris's meh plot. Love the actor. Okay with the character. Bored to tears, *tears,* with his plots. -More inconsistent Kerry... despite that the ER is slammed, she's going to go work on her project and doesn't want to be called for anything sort of, what was it? Nuclear meltdown? And not fifteen minutes later she's saying, "Can I help?" Which tells me she's only *selectively* busy. (BTW, does she *really* "run the hospital?" Oy). -No promo for next week. And my Tivo went to one minute past. What's up with that?

Lubasha Visnjic: TV_Buffy Couch Potato Yesterday @ 05:37 AM Loved JL's Dr. Clemente. Finally, someone at county that knows what they're doing and seems to care about the patients. A complete breath of fresh air. Liked Luka and the coma girl. Great acting by her, I thought throughout the episode. What a tragedy. Was anyone wondering if she was going to have psychic powers a la Dead Zone? Jus me, then? Loved the continuity - breast cancer patient, Dubenko and the "professional", coma girl. Loved it! Seriously, the dialogue in last night's episode was snappy, fresh, and really quite enjoyable. Pratt's storyline was the only thing that dragged. I really don't care about Pratt or Danny Glover Pratt. Ugh. The sex scenes seemed really out of place and gratuitous. Didn't get why they were there.

Lubasha Visnjic: Chiggers Channel Surfer Yesterday @ 06:47 AM I didn't get that we had to see two bits about sex at the end. It seemed completely out of place. I can understand where Pratt's coming from but I have to feel sorry for his father because he's got something he needs to say and can't. Pratt's mom seems to have left something important out of the story. Still, I don't care if I never find out what that was. Loved the coma story because it seemed to be about Luka's awakening if you think about some of the things said when Luka and Blaire talked. I liked Abby's story. Mostly I just liked how she awoke to the fact that she needed to get her first mammogram and it was all done without being overdone. Abby's all for adoption of any baby. That's possibly good news for some of us. I'm not on board with the Clemente enthusiasm. I didn't see where JL as Clemente added anything any other jerk other than Morris hasn't added, or subtracted, on this show before. Chalk this up as yet another episode that was mostly very good.

Lubasha Visnjic: Vani820 Couch Potato Yesterday @ 08:05 AM Was it me or was Luka really hot tonight? The acting was great too, but GV is looking good. They should leave Morris out on the street more often.

Lubasha Visnjic: Sallins Couch Potato Yesterday @ 10:42 AM Happy 250th epsiode ER. It was a pretty good one last night. It felt like a true ensemble show last night. JL as Clemente, I like him and yes Neela he is kinda hot. My brother and I were just discussing if there were a live action "Simpsons" that JL would play Dr. Nick Riveria. Luka and the uncoma girl stuff was really good, there was good acting on both sides there.
